6Q1 Researcher workshops
The Six Question Initiative (6QI) will be an opportunity to collaborate with other research centres in Ontario and across Canada. We will be hosting one by-invitation researcher workshop in the fall of 2009, and five more in 2010 that will address each of the six questions individually. We plan to invite researchers from across Canada, the USA and Europe to these workshops with the goal of creating a state of the art commentary. The findings of the workshop will be published in a special issue of the Journal of WORK to be published in 2011.
Our vision is that this initiative will instigate a national network of researchers and students dedicated to clarify the underpinnings of an effective MSD-prevention strategy.
The first researcher workshop will be on the third of the six questions:
1. How well do we understand MSDs and their burdens?
2. How good are our MSD risk factors?
3. How effective and informative are current workplace MSD assessment approaches?
4. How effective are the recommended interventions in actually reducing MSDs in the workplace?
5. How intensely and widely implemented are workplace interventions to prevent MSD?
6. How well are we improving disability outcomes for MSDs?
This page on the website will summarize the findings of the researcher workshop.
